Janet’s classes are a unique way to learn to paint with watercolors... liquid watercolors!
This class explores using the liquid paints, which gives more vibrancy to your paintings and simplifies the artist’s palette, making watercolor painting more efficient and more fun. Janet has a unique way of teaching in which adults learn best. In this workshop, everyone paints and the sessions are based on a shortened demo time and a longer hands-on painting time allowing the participant to really learn. Try a variety of techniques — some traditional and some not — to apply the paint and make it work for you. When was the last time you created foliage in a landscape with a basting brush?
This class is for every level of watercolor painter. It is a great experience for those just learning the process for those with more experience who have been painting for a while and want to wake up their paintings or learn new techniques. One day of plein air painting is planned for with hopes to paint from the Dillman's pontoon, weather permiting.
Janet is an award-winning artist and has done workshops, classes and demonstrations all over the nation. Her works were featured in the watercolor books Splash 14 and Splash 16 and she has been featured in Watercolor Artist Magazine, Rocky Mountain Gardening and on local and regional television shows. As an instructor, Janet enjoys teaching in a positive way. Guiding students to uncover their own style of painting while they learn many watercolor techniques. Janet has published two instructional books, How Do You Paint That Vols. 1 and 2, which include more than 40 step-by-step lessons in each book.

2021 COVID Precautions
It is impossible to assess the impact, if any, of COVID-19 for the upcoming 2021 season, but all artists should be prepared to abide by the following measures while attending workshops.
Participants must fill out a quick health questionnaire to make sure they do not exhibit any symptoms.
Masks are required to be worn while in classrooms and shared spaces.
Participants must also wash hands or use hand sanitizer at the beginning of each class and often during class sessions.
Participants are required to stay 6 feet apart for social distancing protocols.
A floor plan per each of our three studios has been created to ensure that the artist tables and lecture area will allow people to socially distance themselves a minimum of 6 feet.
In lieu of crowding around the artist during demos, a desktop camera system and large format digital TV screens have been installed in each of the studios to allow students a close up view of demos.
We will be providing students with hand-sanitizer at their work stations. In addition, the studios will be closed for 1 hour in the late evenings for a daily UV sanitation and touch surface cleaning.
