In this workshop you will explore a loose watercolor application on sanded pastel paper. These two mediums really complement each other. There will be drips, splatters and salt patterns. Finish with pastel on top. Selective details will refine a center of interest in an exciting way. There will be several projects and demos throughout each day. No watercolor experience necessary, but is helpful. These works of art are full of energy and very expressive. Learn how to become a better editor. Having more time to work & understand the under painting, will help strengthen your magic selective pastel touch on the top layer and therefore appreciate both textures together.
Frankie is an accomplished artist with over 40 years of experience in oil painting and pastels. For the last 35 years, Frankie has taught drawing, oil and pastel painting at several Art Schools before opening her own Fine Art School, the Mainstreet Art Center, which she opened 25 years ago. She conducts workshops in several locations throughout the Midwest. Frankie has participated in many juried exhibitions and plein air painting competitions and won numerous awards for her paintings through the years.& She is currently represented by the Fine Line Designs Gallery in Ephraim, Wisconsin and Castle Gallery in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Frankie's paintings, including numerous portrait commissions, which hang in corporate and private collections throughout the country. Her memberships include OPA, NOAPS, Portrait Society of America, Portrait Society of IL, Plein Air Chicago, AIS, with awards and recognitions in each.
This is a Studio Only Workshop.
Intermediate to Advanced Levels.

Meals are on your own. All accommodations have cooking facilities. You may preorder box lunches and dinners for meals to be taken alone or with your group in: your studio, the lodge deck, cafe, or your accommodation. (Pre-ordering for lunches and dinners is required.)

PAL’s (Participants at large) can vacation at Dillman’s for $45 per night for accommodations. Costs for box lunches and dinners are additional.
