Julie Skoda

Painterly Pastel

August 16-21, 2020 (Four Teaching Days)

Julie will work with you to take your paintings beyond the reference photo by emphasizing composition, color, stroke and texture. Learn to take advantage of the pastel medium for more expressive paintings. Each day we will discuss different under painting techniques and how it can influence your finished painting. Bring your reference photos, but we will step outside at our beautiful location to sketch and observe the light and color. Daily demos will emphasize value, shape, color and mark making techniques. Lots of individual attention will be given to help you develop your own personal style.
