Watercolor: On Your Creative Path

Sept 24-29, 2017 (Four Teaching Days)

Recharge your creative batteries in a nurturing environment of fun and learning. Do you need inspiration, blocks of time to paint, new and renewed "how to" skills, and a supportive instructor for individual help? Treat yourself to a creative retreat of art-making. Surrounded by beauty, it's a perfect getaway for mind, spirit and brush.

Daily Agenda: morning instruction and afternoon personal painting time with one-on-one guidance at your own pace.

Instructional topics to include:

  • Wet in Wet: the marvelous and maddening. Tips for success based on my 30 years of lessons learned.
  • Color Mixing (transparency, avoiding mud, getting clean, fresh, brilliant color).
  • Brushwork
  • Making your Art Personal: what's your "signature style" and how do you uncover it?
  • Lessons from the Masters: what you'll learn from the great painters
  • Working from Photos
  • Getting the Proper Values: the key to everything
  • Bonus: Lessons from the Masters, inspirational jump-starts, instructional video, or a plein air "how to" session if desired.

In this popular class you'll grow, expand your technique, and have quiet time to get "in the painting zone." You'll also have fun and enjoy the camaraderie of kindred spirits.

Skill level: Adult beginners through advanced are welcome. Individual lessons tailored to your level. Go at your own pace. (Absolute beginners with instructor permission.)
