Bob Burridge

Loosen Up with Aquamedia Painting

June 25-July 1, 2017 (Five Teaching Days)

This highly energized painting workshop emphasizing loose and creative experimentation. Expect an intense, concentrated and lively workshop where you will create many works of art using spontaneity for maximum effect. It’s Like 4 Years of Art School! In just a few days you will know more than most artists about color, composition and your painting intentions. Burridge’s popular “Loosen Up” workshop nurtures individual success and personal enrichment with a big emphasis on daily painting projects at your own pace. It is stress-free, but be warned; you could end up with too much enthusiasm for painting. Burridge’s flagship workshop offers a variety of painting subjects for everyone. This workshop is designed for the professional painter who is stuck in a style, as well as for the novice who wants to conquer their fear of painting.

Starting with small 10”x10” multiple warm-up painting exercises up to larger-format paintings, Burridge’s positive approach towards the act of painting will inspire you to loosen up, have fun again and paint more! His critiques are famous for “how to look at your own work” and “where do I go from here?” This workshop has become a must for artists who want the confidence and permission to paint the way they have always wanted to paint. Students will take home preprinted notes of useful and need-to-know information. A positive attitude is a must! Burridge’s newest color wheel technique is also included.

Robert Burridge is a noted international award-winning Industrial Designer who, after twenty-five years in the corporate design world, has focused his life to painting every day. Burridge is a celebrated, contemporary painter, contributing author to artists’ magazines, college teacher and publisher of his own books, “Loosen Up Workbook & Studio Notes” and “Hot Art Marketing.” His instructional DVDs feature his popular “Loosen Up” techniques. Burridge attributes his success to his education from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, his stint as an adjunct professor at Cooper Union School for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City, and in 1966, his Fluxus art performances with Yoko Ono, Nam June Paik, Jim McWilliams and Charlotte Moorman. He is much sought after as juror, lecturer and workshop instructor. Also, Burridge is a featured artist-mentor for Master Workshops in France, Italy, Mexico, Bahamas, Costa Rica, Cuba and Guatemala. Robert is the Honorary President of the International Society of Acrylic Painters and Signature Member of both the ISAP and the Philadelphia Water Color Society. He is a recipient of their highest and most prestigious award, the Crest Medal for Achievement in the Arts. Currently, his popular work hangs in the permanent collections of international embassies, corporate galleries, art colleges as well as television and entertainment personalities. The San Luis Obispo Museum of Art curated fourteen of his abstract paintings for his first solo museum exhibition, which led to his second major solo exhibition of seven foot abstract charcoal drawings. His second exhibition at the Elverhoj Museum is titled “Manna from Heaven.”
